Horsham Motocross, Enduro and Dirt Bike Tracks
Dooen Motocross Circuit
The Dooen Motocross Circuit covers 30 acres of land with three tracks suited to motocross, dirt bike and enduro riders. The circuit has three tracks: a 1.7-kilometre hard-pack motocross track, a 1.5-kilometre natural-terrain loop on a grass paddock, and a section through a disused quarry with a lot of drop-offs and climbs. The circuit is great for enduro riders as all three tracks link together to make an enduro loop that takes approximately ten minutes to ride.
The circuit is owned by the Horsham Motorcycle Club, which runs a unique program for junior riders called the ‘Academy of Motocross’. This program combines Motorcycling Australia’s ‘Kickstart Program’ with some Minikhana training, which is a fun way to help junior riders obtain their recreational or racing licences. The Dooen Motocross Circuit is available for members only; however, non-members with Motorcycling Australia licences are welcome to try the track out for free as long as they book ahead with the club.
Opening hours: During daylight savings months, the circuit is open every Wednesday from 4pm onwards. The track is typically open on weekend days; see their Facebook page for details: https://www.facebook.com/groups/484120235000107/?fref=ts
The club is also open on public holidays.
Cost: Practice rides costs $5 per rider.
Annual memberships are $45 for juniors, $75 for seniors (over 18 years) and $95 for families.
Number of tracks: 3, including a 1.5-kilometre natural-terrain loop, a quarry section, and a national-standard 1.7-kilometre motocross track.
Licence requirements: Motorcycling Australia licences are mandatory. Day licences and annual recreational licences can be purchased from the clubhouse.
