Ararat Motorcycle Club Track
The Ararat Motorcycle Club is based in the small gold rush town of Ararat, a little over two hours from Melbourne. The club has its own motocross track next to its clubhouse, but it is also known for its vintage and red-plate (pre-1920 bikes) rallies. The club is affiliated with Motorcycling Victoria and has events to suit riders of all ages. The club has a 1.6-kilometre dedicated motocross track (with more jumps than is typical for a track of that length) with a smaller pee wee track beside it. The track is for use by members only.
Opening hours: The club holdsat least two practice days each month, typically on Sundays. During daylight savings months, the track is also open Wednesday afternoons. See the club’s Facebook page for scheduled practice days and times.
Cost: Practice day entrance is $10 on Wednesday afternoons and $20 all day on Sundays.
Annual memberships are $80 for a single or family.
Number of tracks: 2, including a standard motocross track and a pee wee track, both hard pack.
Licence requirements: Motorcycling Australia licences are mandatory. One-day recreational licences are available at the track.
