Cooyar Motocross, Enduro and Dirt Bike Tracks

 

Motocross Mountain

Motocross Mountain is a beautiful, hilly 370-acre property in country Cooyar, less than two hours’ drive from Brisbane. The site was purchased with the intention of turning it into a motorbike park, and the natural terrain – which ranges from grasslands to open forest and rainforest – has been carved into tracks and trails for riders of all experience levels.

Motocross Mountain has over 30 kilometres of enduro tracks as well as motocross tracks, hill climbs and tracks suitable for junior riders. Camping is available; however, facilities are limited with no hot showers or drinking water on the site. Campfires are permitted. Glass and dogs are not allowed on the property.

Opening hours: Motocross Mountain is open 8am to 5pm on weekends and public holidays only, with riding between 9am and 5pm. Please note that Motocross Mountain closes when it is raining.

Cost: Ride fees are:

·       $15 for children under 10

·       $25 for children 11 to 15

·       $30 for adults.

Number of tracks: 10+, including:

·       Two motocross tracks with tight corners, great jumps and straight sections

·       One children’s beginner motocross track

·       30 kilometres of enduro tracks through gullies, hills and rainforest terrain

·       One flat track

·       Several intense hill climb tracks.

Phoenix Creek Motocross and Camping Park

Set amongst bush and native parklands lies Phoenix Creek Motocross Park, a park designed for family riding. To ensure their mission is met, the park’s motto for adult riders is “No kids, no ride”. Phoenix Creek has tracks to suit motocross and trail riders of all skill levels. Unnecessarily loud motorbikes (those with mufflers not complying with the 94-decibel Motorcycling Australia noise limit) and glass are not allowed on the properties. Dogs, however, are permitted if kept on a leash at all times. Camping is encouraged. In warm weather, creeks and rock pools are available for swimming.

Opening hours: People can ride from sunup to sundown on weekends, public holidays and Queensland school holidays. Gates open at 3pm on Friday for campers to set up. Riding is available on weekdays by prior arrangement only.

Cost: Ride fees are:

·       $10 for children up to 10

·       $15 for children 11 to 15

·       $20 for riders 16 and over

·       $25 for all riders with full-sized bikes.

Number of tracks: 5, four of which are manmade junior motocross tracks.

·       ‘Cisco’s Circus Beginners and Kids MX Track’ is a fully enclosed track for pee wee riders.

·       ‘Hoppalong Intermediate Junior Motocross Track’ includes obstacles with a medium difficulty including berms, tabletops, an off-camber corner and a few ski jumps.

·       ‘Shapes Intermediate/Advanced Junior MX Track’ has more advanced obstacles, including ski jumps and tabletops, step-ups and step-downs, corner jumps, a drop-off, staggers and a curved straight.

·       ‘El Pesto Advanced Junior MX Track’, the most advanced motocross track on the property, features a long uphill start straight, big tabletops, double and step-up jumps, rhythm and split-lane sections and fast berms.

·       Phoenix Creek’s fifth track is a senior natural-terrain motocross track with difficult obstacles including step-ups, drop-offs, rollers, doubles and berms.
